In such cases, you can mark Pokemon locations, you found, to assist other players in your area. When other players see the locations marked by you, your trainer name will get linked so as to increase your goodwill as a local trainer. All the Pokemon locations submitted can be 'Upvoted' and also 'Downvoted'. A location with too many downvotes will be removed from the map by default. Similarly, location having too many upvotes will receive priority when it comes to display on the map.
